If you’re a landlord , it’s your legal responsibility to ensure your rental property is electrically safe. That means having a valid EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) carried out by a qualified electrician at least once every five years. You must also do the following:

A copy of the EICR must be given to your tenants.
You must keep a copy yourself for your records.
Any issues flagged in the report must be repaired within 28 days (or sooner if urgent).
A valid EICR must always be in place at the start of any new tenancy.

We’re proud to announce that E.R Electrical recently completed the installation of a back-up generator infrastructure installed at the George Moore Community Centre in Bourton-on-the-Water, thanks to a generous £10,000 grant from Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).

The centre, owned by Bourton-on-the-Water Parish Council, is a Grade II listed building and serves as a vital meeting place for local community groups, organisations, and businesses, including the local library, Kate’s Home Nursing, and the Police Point.

Designated as a ‘place of safety’ in the Parish Council’s Emergency Plan, the new back-up generator point will ensure that the centre remains operational during emergencies, providing essential support for the community when it’s needed most.

Parish Council Chairman, Councillor Andy Roberts, expressed his gratitude, saying,
