We’re excited to share the details of one of our recent projects: a complete electrical installation for the newly constructed garage at The Chestnuts! This comprehensive setup was designed to integrate seamlessly with modern necessities and ensure future-proofing for evolving technologies.
Project Overview
The Chestnuts’ new garage demanded a robust and versatile electrical system. Our team at E.R Electrical took on the challenge, delivering a state-of-the-art installation that meets both current needs and anticipates future advancements. Here’s a breakdown of what we installed:
Ground Floor Installation
- Twin Sockets: We installed 4 twin sockets, providing ample power outlets for various tools and devices.
- Outdoor Socket: An additional outdoor socket was set up for external power requirements.
- Track Lights: Two track lights were installed, offering broad, adjustable illumination to cover the entire space effectively.
- Outdoor Swan Fittings: We added 2 outdoor swan fittings with PIR motion sensors at the front and another at the rear. These enhance both security and convenience by automatically lighting up when motion is detected.
- EV Car Charger: A Project EV Car Charger was fitted, preparing the garage for eco-friendly vehicle charging.
1st Floor Installation
- Twin Sockets: The first floor was equipped with 4 twin sockets to ensure versatile power access.
- Wall Light and Downlights: We installed a stylish wall light by the stairwell and 4 downlights to create a well-lit and welcoming space.
- Heaters: Two heaters were added to maintain a comfortable environment year-round.
Advanced Power Management
To support the comprehensive electrical setup, we installed a new Fusebox board designed to handle lighting, power, and 2x heater radials. The system is powered by a 16mm SWA cable, which was pulled in and wired underground from the house to the garage. Additionally, we incorporated data cables for the EV chargers, including a CT clamp and a data point on the first floor, ensuring seamless connectivity and future expansion capabilities.
